IT Manager

Do you have a passion for IT infrastructure? Do you have a deep understanding of IT networks, cloud adoption and IT architecture?

We’re currently looking for a highly motivated IT Manager who has the drive to create, research and improve our mission critical technology infrastructure. Reporting to the Senior Controller, the IT Manager will work with the IT Network Administrator to design and implement the corporate network architecture to support fast and reliable network operations.

  • Create, research and plan projects to improve and/or upgrade mission critical technology to increase company productivity.

  • Deliver projects within budgets and timelines

  • Define and execute a strategy for cloud service adoption to manage IT costs incurred for on-premises hardware and software support

  • Create and manage annual IT budget, manage IT purchasing, assets and licenses

  • Work with Operations team to ensure 24x7 operation of the Network Operations Centre

  • Manage company internal helpdesk ensuring fast and effective service to employees

  • Manage integrity and security of IT infrastructure preventing data loss, unauthorized access, viruses, etc.

  • Manage PC obsolescence and replacement plans

  • Document processes and procedures

  • Automate repetitive operations to ensure reliability

  • Specify IT equipment needs and negotiate with vendors

  • Design and implement backup and recovery plans

  • Maintain company IT infrastructure including:

  • Network routers, firewalls, VPN, switches, access points, cables

  • Windows and Linux servers

  • Application servers e.g. ERP

  • Cloud services e.g. AWS

  • Windows, Mac and Linux workstations

  • VoIP phone system

  • Company cell phones and plans

  • Provide after-hours and/or weekend on-site and remote support including network maintenance

  • Exceptional communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong internal relationships

  • Demonstrated ability and desire to collaboratively work cross functionally to achieve corporate objectives

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent

  • Minimum 3 years experience managing IT team

  • Solid understanding of network architecture, devices, and security technologies

  • Experience as a Microsoft and/or Linux server administrator

  • Project management experience

  • Strong problem solving, data-driven and decision-making skills required

  • Experience with Perl, Python, Ruby or Shell scripting
