Product Manager, Programs
The Product Manager (Programs) is responsible for delivering new products to our customers, on-time and on-budget, and managing the lifecycle of each product from concept to end-of-life. We have two distinct product manager roles in Nanometrics: a Senior Product Manager focused primarily on product roadmap and business case definition to determine the “what’ and “why” in order to provide the best value to our customers, and a Product Manager (Programs) who coordinates corporate-wide activities of all departments to realize the product vision. Both roles demand a passion for the product and in-depth understanding of the benefits each product offers users.
The Product Manager (Programs) is a collaborative role requiring a detailed knowledge of how all departments contribute to achieve a successful product offering, and the passion and drive to knit all these elements together to deliver superior products to market.
Working with the VP Products, Senior Product Manager, R&D, Operations, Marketing and Finance, the Product Manager (Programs) objective is to thoroughly understand the mandate of each product initiative, develop a plan, and drive it to completion. This includes establishing high-level project plans, managing a development gate process engaging all departments, hands-on experience with products through development and production, and ensuring each investment achieves its functional objectives and business mandate.
This role is first and foremost about realizing the potential of an imagined product. Although high-level project management is part of the job, this is not a project management role. It is a product management responsibility with the focus delivery and execution of a product vision.
