Nanometrics actively contributing to data format discussions
evolution of miniSEED
The Data Format working group of the International Federation of Digital Seismograph Networks (FDSN) is holding a workshop, focused on the evolution of miniSEED, on March 22 and 23 in Utrecht, Netherlands. Nanometrics will be represented by David Easton, Senior Manager, Software Development, who has been an active member of the working group for the last year.
Nanometrics prefers contributing to the evolution of data storage and streaming formats in a user community-based approach, rather than attempting to drive proprietary implementations. Our participation also allows us to better understand user needs both from the perspective of the producers of data as well as the data center, to ensure our instrument and data center software is designed for maximum interoperability, efficiency and usability.
